Collected the Karoq this afternoon.
I was a little sad to say goodbye to my Toledo; I'll miss its massive boot, roomy interior (for four) and ruthless lack of glamour. I probably won't miss its lack of refinement and weirdly unsettled rear end.
The Karoq brought my son and me home 45 miles on a mix of motorways and country roads and felt extremely comfortable. The 1.5tsi seems powerful enough but still needs to kick the DSG down when overtaking.
I'm quite pleased with my tables and cupholders in the back. I suspect the powered tailgate will become a mixed blessing, likewise the cream leather interior...
Finally, I asked for a towbar to be fitted by the dealer. It was eye-wateringly expensive but, within the overall deal, wasn't too bad. When I arrived to collect, I couldn't see it, then found out that it is a powered retractable one. That would explain the cost, but I'm not sure pulling a trailer tent twice a year is going to justify the expense.
