Towing with a Focus Ecoboost?

Just bought an Ford Focus Ecoboost 1.0 from dealer. Told them I didn't drive many miles except in July/August so asked if I should buy this or diesel 1.6 and they advised me on the 1.0 as the diesel has a particulate filter.

That's all good and well except on reading through handbook it states not to tow with this car! Have contacted Ford as the glossy mag in dealership states kerb weights etc. indicating it can tow.

Also, on the Ford website I configured my car and in the options menu I added a tow bar which it allowed me to have.

Help! Will I have to try to exchange my car? Will they exchange?

You could overheat the turbo towing with a 1.0 Ecoboost. You would certainly need to idle the engine for a couple of minutes every time you stopped before switching off.
