Hi, just a warning re this model in case you were not aware. On two occasions now I have found all four windows fully open unexpectedly. The first time I was made aware by a neighbour who thought my car had been broken into but I found that they were just open. I did a bit of research and found that if the key fob is pressed for a length of time it opens all the windows!!! Why you would need this feature I dont know. I realised that I had been decorating and had the key in my pocket and assume that when I was on the floor I have pressed the fob. I have just finished another stint of decorating and realised on going to bed that the key had ben in my pocket again. I thought it's unlikely that it's happened again however as its stormy outside I'd better check. Went out and indeed all the windows open again!!!! The moral of this story......get a decorator in!!!!??

Possibly useful on a really hot day to open all the windows for five mins before getting in? About the only use I can think of, I had the reverse on one of my cars where the sunroof and all windows could be closed at the click of a button. Lazy locking I think it was called.

All my cars over the last twenty years or so have had this feature. This includes my current 2018 Golf. I think I could disable it but, as X says, it’s useful on a hot day.

It once came up in discussion in the office with several people adamant their car didn’t have this feature. When they later checked most of them did have it.

I guess with the move to stuffing in more and more menu-operated special features, and manuals running to hundreds of pages, there are lots of features people are unaware of.

Suppose I can see the point on a hot day. Not so handy on a wet night when you are unaware it's done it!!! Need to look if it can be disabled.... or just drive up the shallow end!!

My Ford Focus (Mk 2, 05 reg) had this. Long press on the unlock button and all windows went down. If I used my forehead to extend the range of the remote control (you all know about this, right?) on a hot day the car would be well ventilated by the time I got to it.

Long press on the lock button would raise all windows that were open.

That's why I never give my keys to children to play with. I know a couple of folk who have discovered this the hard way!

OK, here's my entry for the "useless keyfob features" competition. Its based on very limited exposure to electronic keyfobs, so I'm sure there is a lot worse out there.

Remote starting on a rented Kymco Jokey scooter.

?

Only use I can see would be for ex-Mafia dons on witness protection in Taiwan, who might fear the steed being wired for bangs.

I recall a scene in "The gang that couldn't shoot straight" comedy film where the Mafia boss sent his wife out to start his car in the morning. Not sure if if he put earplugs in and hid under the table while she did that.
