Vauxhall Astra Elite 1.4 auto 2017 - Horn - golfauto11

I have just purchased a five month old, Astra 1.4 auto Elite.

Either the horn supplied is awful, or only a single one. Does anybody know the answer to this without invalidating the warranty?

Many thanks.

Agreed. The one on my 2016 SRi is bad, almost such that I would think twice before using it.

I couldn't believe what I "wasn't" hearing when I actually pressed it by accident the first time. I too feel embarrassed to use it. Thanks for your reply.

A good auto sparks could adapt the wiring and with the use of a relay, a pair of twin tone horns could be installed..The original horn could always be re-installed at a later date.

+1 The biggest problem on modern cars likely to be where to find room to fit the horns.

Seems strange that manufacturers spent millions getting doors to shut with a thud and switches to 'feel' right, then put a nasty little peep peep horn in.

Agreed!!

Many thanks, seems that is probably the only road to go down. It's just that it would invalidate my warranty, and insurance if they found out.

Thanks anyway.

It can only invalidate the warranty if it causes issues in other components - it doesn't consitute a dynamic modification so I doubt your insurer would increase the premium.

Many thanks, but I have been in touch with Vauxhall today, who took a good deal of time to help me. They assured me it would invalidate my warranty, as fitting an Insignia dual horn is not recognised by them, as a suitable modification for the Astra.

They also said that damage to the harness could be the result, of carrying out this modification, so I will just have to put up with the atrocious horn!!

This might be up your street. Fit an Insignia duel horn to your Astra: www.astrakforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=33...8
