Audi 2.0 TFSI excess oil usage

Having checked your site when I bought an A5 with a major oil problem (the independent dealer has subsequently gone bust) I went to my main dealer (Sheffield Audi) who was great and agreed with Audi to cover 90% of the repair (rods and seals, new head and new cat. So I thought id share that main dealer service can be excellent.

However I wish I could say the same for the Warranty Direct cover I took out and it might be worth informing your readers that you will only really have cover from 90 days as pre that anything will be rejected as wear and tear (plus they wouldn't share any evidence to the contrary)while I would have accepted rejection based on manufacturer fault, they too easily rejected the claim based on wear and tear a matter I have asked the insurance ombudsman to look into. There is enough sharp practice without companies that seemed to have a good name like Warranty Direct employing them also.

Excellent service by Audi and Sheffield Audi. The 90 day term is a standard term of WD warranties and most other warranties to help ensure that people do not take out a warranty to fix an existing fault, which actually amounts to insurance fraud and is a criminal offence.
