VW sharan 1.9TDI - ABS warning light - strickjumpers

Helo, ABS warning on sharan, I have an OBD2 dongle off ebay, turbo manufacturer. can i find out which sensor is at fault and extinguish the warning light with this unit or do i need more complicated euipment. I have the basic ap on my phone but doesnt seem to do much, any help. please? Thanks, Mike.

It's most likely the ABS/EPS pump fault, known as the 'Teves Mk60' fault. If that is the fault, the unit needs rebuilding or replacing. The warning light cannot just be extinguished.

What makes you assume the fault lies with a sensor? Check the fusible links on top of the battery. They're not unknown to have a hairline crack resulting in a loss of electrical feed to the ABS unit. Check very carefully, preferably with a multimeter or test lamp because they can be difficult to spot.

This car could be 20 years old and could have a string of faults on the abs system associated with old age.
