Lexus RX450 - Squeaky radial arm bushes - Stevie Clark

I have been quoted £800+ to renew radial arm bushes as the ones on my car are squeaky, this can not be done under warranty as the are not worn or dangerous, just squeaky, the bushes themselves cannot be replaced as the whole radial arms, (both sides), only come as a single unit, not seperate bits, and each one is £300+ and both sides have to be done. Is there anything I can do, (cheaply), to stop the squeak?

Get an aerosol can of waxoyl or similar waxy rustproofing product and give the bushes a good blast soaking...warm day if poss or stand the can in some warm (not too hot it is after all an aerosol) water to make it more runny.

It doesn't affect rubber bushes and you'll find part of the benefit of full rustproofing is that the suspension is quieter overall as well as road noise reduced if the underbody is properly coated.

Beware, proper rustproofing is addictive, next thing you know it'll be £200 worth of Bilt Hambers finest underbody and cavity waxes..:-)
