Hi all,

I bought a car from a dealer and have had all sorts of problems since I bought it. I have been reading up on the Customer Rights Act and have put together this letter. Am I likely to get my money back?

Letter below:

On 21 st October 2015 I purchased, and took delivery of, the above vehicle, a 2007 Vauxhall Corsa 1.7 CDTI from you. I have since found that the car is not of satisfactory quality:

· DPF Filter missing – You told me when having problems with the DPF to run it down the motorway. I did over 300 miles in this car and even used Forbes DPF cleaner. I even had the cars DPF forcefully regenerated to try and resolve this issue. Only after having taking it to a diesel specialist did I find out the DPF was missing, even though this is a legal requirement for the car, and therefore would be considered an MOT failure

· Harmful Fumes in Cab – The diesel specialist also informed me that there was a strong smell of diesel fumes coming from the vents. Although you have since repaired this, it was harmful to my health at the point of purchase

· Turbo Leaking Oil – Although the car has been in to have this repaired the turbo is still leaking oil

· Limp Mode – The car is going into limp mode, and although the car has been returned to have this repaired, it is still entering limp mode intermittently. This is dangerous as it limits the amount of power which the car outputs

· Rear Nearside Brake Light – The rear left brake light only works intermittently

· Nearside Side Skirt – This side skirt was only adhesived on and is now hanging off the car

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires dealers to supply goods of satisfactory quality; however, the vehicle is clearly unroadworthy. You are therefore in breach of contract.

I am legally entitled to reject the vehicle and to be reimbursed for its full purchase price of £2895. I look forward to receiving your cheque for this sum within 14 days. If you fail to reimburse me I shall have no alternative but to issue a claim against you in the county court for recovery of the money without further reference to you.
