How can I trace my Ford Mondeo's service history?

I have bought an 08/58 Ford Mondeo but the service book is missing. I've been unable to trace the service history to confirm anything. It was sold via Ford Direct in August 09 with 9000 miles, and has now got 26,000 miles and no reason to believe any different. I keep reading about a service light but don't know where it is. Any advice on obtaining details on the service history and light would be great.

Check with Ford Customer Care, because it would have to have a service record to support any warranty on the car.

I'm buying a used car. The dealer has the V5C certificate in the name of the previous owner and not in the name of the dealer. Is this correct? Should the dealer not be the registered keeper of the vehicle?
