My wife and I take turns insuring our car to keep our NCB - do I need to change the name on the V5 each time?
My wife and I take it in turns to insure the car each year so neither loses their no claims. Do I need to change the name on the V5 every year if we do this? I'm reticent to do this as we intend to keep the car for about six years and of course the number of owners will go up enormously.

No you do not need to. You do not need to be the owner of a vehicle to insure it.
