My friend's Porsche 997 4S' clutch has failed twice in 10,000 miles - how can he get it repaired under warranty?

A pal of mine is now on his third new Porsche, a second generation 997 4S Cabriolet. It's about two years old, bought brand new from a main agent and it's driven by his wife. The clutch has failed twice in 9000 miles. First time it went, the company replaced it on warranty, but they have refused to replace it this time on warranty. When my pal rang up to speak to the service manager, he was told that they didn't have one and hadn't had one for five months. Are you able to hazard a thought on how he might progress this?

This isn't technical, it's legal. He needs to sue the supplying dealer for the cost of the new clutch on the grounds that the car was not supplied "of satisfactory quality". The dealer's defence might be that his wife is not driving the car properly, so he had better have some documentary evidence that this is a common failure.
