My car needs a new clutch but the warranty doesn't cover it. What can I do?
i bought a car in April 2010 and last week either the clutch or slave/master cylinder has gone. The car has three months' original Peugeot warranty left, and then the dealer's warranty starts. Both are saying that I am liable to pay for this, but I have to give permission to strip the car down to find out what the problem is. If it is the clutch, I have to pay about £1000 as its wear and tear. I've only done about 500 miles since I purchased the car. Do you know where I stand on this?

There is an implied term that any fault that develops within six months of purchase is the responsibility of the dealer, unless he can prove that it was not beginning to develop on the day of sale (which he can't). See Consumer Rights FAQ.
