Why am I being charged for 'Documentation and Taxation' when trading in for a new Ford Focus?

I am about to trade in my old Ford Focus for a year-old Focus. I've just noticed an item on the quote listed as "Documentation and Taxation" with a value of £74.73 plus VAT. I don't recall this being explained. Is this a regular charge?

If the car is advertised at a price and it is not made clear that there is this additional charge, then you can challenge it. Many dealers do impose a similar charge.
