My Skoda Fabia's wiring loom is being replaced under warranty - should I receive a new warranty afterwards?

In October 2008 we bought a new Skoda Fabia 2. Recently the electrics all blew and the engine died. I phoned Skoda Assist, the car still being in warranty. They sent the RAC to me and a very nice man arrived within 20 minutes. He diagnosed that the main 80amp fuse had blown. At the dealership I was told that it would be a few days before they could fit a new fuse. Today, two weeks after the original problem appeared, I was told that a large electric cable had worn away through chafing and that the entire wiring loom of the whole car would need to be replaced. I was quoted 6 to 8 weeks minimum for the repair. I was also told that, in the dealer's experience, this was only the second time this had happened, the last being at least three years ago.

When I eventually get my car back, as it would have been rebuilt, should I be entitled to a new full warranty, or a new car? After the rebuild it will no longer be the car I purchased.

All you are entitled to is for the car to be repaired and for you to be kept mobile in the meantime. I will note the fault in car-by-car breakdown.
