Winter/summer tyres change
I have always had a set of summer and winter tyres for my cars as I live on top of a hill. When I take them to the garage to be swapped over, they are put on randomly, as I have always presumed this would even out the wear. Is this correct or should I mark each tyre as it is taken off so it can be replaced in the same spot?

Winter tyres are invariably directional so two can only be put on one side and the other two can only be put on the other side so the tyres rotate in the direction of the arrows on their sidewalls.
