Replacing a Jag XJR?

Hello HJ,

I currently own a 2006 (pre facelift) Jaguar XJR. It's fantastic. Apart from the standard Jaguar suspension issues, the car has been very reliable. It's great to drive, very powerful and loads of toys.

I now need something more practical and am looking for a large estate or 4x4 up to £14k (including the Jag trade in) and up to 5 years old. However, I'm struggling to find anything with a powerful petrol engine – I know whatever I get is likely to be a bit of a drop in class but everything seems to be either diesel, very high mileage petrol or the Skoda Octavia.

I'm now considering the option of keeping the Jag, using it a little less frequently and instead getting a runabout estate/4x4 for between £6k and £8k.

Do you have any suggestions for the more expensive car or do you think keeping the Jag for another few years and getting a runabout is the better option? If so, what do you recommend as a second car?

Thanks
