I fancy a nicer car - what should I get?

Ive just turned 23 but I have had my licence since the age of 18 and now with 2 years no claims discount.

I feel after driving my small little round around its time to find a nice stylish car. My usage will mainly bee going back and forth to work Mon-Fri with the fun drives at the weekend, plus the odd drive abroad in the summer. Approximate mileage probably around 8000 or 9000. Preferably a car which can suitably seat 4 to 5 people with reasonable comfort.

My average salary is around £14000 a year so ownership costs are quite important and need to be kept minimal. Having something fun and stylish would be a great bonus. I'm speculating the various ownership methods but feel a used car would be the best opposed to brand new.

On that sort of salary that can't net you more than £1,000 a month you need to be spending as little as possible on a car and its insurance. A family member just p/x'd an unreliable Peugeot 207 for a new Toyota Aygo Touch with a 5 year warranty on a PCP. This keeps her monthly payments down and manageable. I honestly can't recommend you to get something flash and high insurance at this stage. Maybe after you turn 25 and are earning more.
