Which SUV is best?
I am looking at buying a new SUV. I do about 10,000 miles a year and my daily drive to work is 25 miles each way. I really like the Honda CR-V, but the petrol version is thirsty and high in tax. I also like the Mazda CX-5. Are there any other SUVs worth looking at?

If buying new, Honda is now switching its CR-V over to the new, very efficient 1.6CTDI engine and I have yet to hear of any DPF problems with this engine in the CR-V or Civic. Mazda 2.2 litre Skyactiv diesels are designed to avoid DPF problems. Your 25 mile daily drive will passively burn off any soot from start-up. But the fact remains that diesel engines are more complicated and have to have more filtration systems to meet EU6 and over 10 years you are more likely to encounter some kind of trouble than with a petrol engine.
