How can I remove the smell of tobacco from my Ford Mondeo?
I have bought a used Ford Mondeo Zetec, which is fine in every respect except for a persistent odour of tobacco smoke. Can you please recommend a product or service to remove it? I think I remember you answering this problem before, but can’t be sure, or remember what the solution is to the problem.

Apparently a cardboard box of dry hay left in the back seat of the car for a couple of weeks will absorb the smell. Another recommendation is an open bowl of malt vinegar left in the rear footwell overnight (with a note taped to the steering wheel to remind you before you drive off and spill it).
