Which small diesel MPV would you recommend?
We're looking to buy a small MPV when my wife retires, to replace our two cars, a Peugeot 307 and a Citroën C5 (old model). We are hesitating between the Ford C-Max and the Citroën Xsara Picasso, or possibly the Opel Zafira, all with diesel engines. Which would you recommend and are there other makes we should be considering? Budget is around 8000 Euros.

Check the entries in www.honestjohn.co.uk for what goes wrong. The diesel engine in the Opel Zafira B can be particularly problematic. The 2.0TDCI engine in the C-Max is the most reliable. There have been some problems with the 1.6TDCI used in both the Xsara Picasso and C-Max. The Volkswagen Touran 1.9TDIs seem to be the most reliable Tourans.
