Engine management light is on – what’s the fault?

The engine management warning light has come on my Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The car has covered 36,500 miles and the oil is a little low. There are no real problems to report, but the acceleration is a little poor. Can you help?

Maybe a blocked engine air filter or blocked DPF. Obviously check the air filter first.
