Insurance - can I specify a repairer of my choice?
Last week a driver ran into the back of my MX-5. There is no major dent (one or two dings) and a few scuffs which may polish off. I have had previous experience of insurance company "approved repairers" and found they do a shoddy job and whilst I admit to being fussy, it was a very substandard job.
Can I insist on a repairer of my choice? What are your views on the management companies like "Easi-Drive"? Some of the reviews of the latter are not exactly encouraging. Is it better just to admit defeat and live with a slightly damaged car?

I would not go near any 'accident management companies' because all they are interested in is putting you in an expensive 'credit hire' courtesy car and extending the time of the repair. That's how they make their money. If you insist on your own appointed repairer, you have no comeback if that repairer fails to do a satisfactory job. If you use the insurerer's repairer, you do.
