I am impressed with my Daihatsu - why have they been withdrawn from the UK market?

I bought my Daihatsu Terios Tracker in 2003 because I wanted an automatic with a high seating position and which was able to fit into my narrow garage. It has done everything I have asked of it. Although I have only 35,000 on the clock I do regular trips from Sheffield to Stony Stratford and have to rein it in. I don't think any effort was put into the UK marketing of what has proved an excellent product.

The reason why Daihatsu withdrew from the UK market was the poor sterling/yen exchange rate. It could not afford to continue selling its cars at a price that British people were prepared to pay for them.
