Battery charging advice

Assuming I connect the charger correctly, is it safe to charge the battery in my Honda Civic without removing it from the vehicle? I have a modern CTEK charger which is supposed to be safe to leave on for long periods, but I just want to give it an occasional boost.

If it's a low boost 'battery conditioning' charger then ok. If it gives a rapid charge, then the battery must be disconnected.
