Car battery Ah rating

Having had a battery replaced less than two years ago (due to a roadside breakdown), the new one has also failed.

The one that was fitted at the roadside was rated at 59Ah whereas the Vauxhall main dealer from whom I have just purchased a replacement says that my car needs to have a 70Ah rated battery. Would the lower 59Ah rating of the earlier one be a factor in why it failed?
