Focus estate - recommended?

I'm looking at a Ford Focus 2009 estate automatic, do you rate them? Would you recommend petrol or diesel?

The 2.0TDCI Powershift auto is good. The 1.6 petrol 4 speed torque converter auto okay within its limitations, but not brilliant.
