Damage on nearly new Hyundai spotted one week after purchase
Last week I purchased a Hyundai ix35 from a Hyundai dealership. This weekend when giving it its first wash I noticed the area above the drivers door handle lots of small imperfections and bubbles in the paint and very small chips. When the sun came out I noticed that this part of the door was ever so slightly a different shade of silver to the rest of the panel. To me this is a re-spray and not a very good one no sign of it being blended across the panel or decent use of a spray gun.
Obviously, this is not the kind of fine toothcomb inspection you could give the entire car at the dealership so I hadn't spotted it. The car had only done 150miles and we were told it was an ex demo model and was essentially a new car!! We weren't expecting to see any damage on it but gave it a pretty good once over at the dealership but didn't get upclose and personal with every squre inch.
Have we a leg to stand on with the dealership? Should this badly done paint job have been declared to us as potentially it will affect the warranty on the paintwork?

Definitely. If this damage occurred at the factory the rectification would be better. I suspect damage while it was a demonstrator. The car is sub standard. A customer is not expected to spot this sort of thing. The dealer is liable. Tell him if he doesn't get it fixed, then you will have it fixed and will sue him for the cost in the small claims track of the county court.

I have seen an A6 Ultra S line 190 (65 plate) red with full leather. It's virtually brand new and is priced very attractively. Is it a good buy? Or would you advise going for the New A4?
