Are Honda ever likely to offer a diesel CR-V in Thailand?

I live in Thailand and want to buy a new largeish vehicle such as Toyota Fortuner, Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Pajero, Chevvy Captiva. I need something to seat 5 minimum and really prefer diesel. Do you think Honda will ever offer a diesel CR-V in Thailand, like they do in the west?

Have you any recommendations as to which is the best buy? In terms of local dealer garages, there are Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi, Ford and isuzu in my town. Also Nissan but not seen anything by them in the range I'm interested in.

I don't think so. The diesel engines fitted in the UK are actually assembled in the UK. And the new 1.6 diesel engine blocks will be cast in the UK so the engines will be wholly manufactured here. In contrast, we don't get the choice of 2.0i VTEC or 2.4iVTEC here and the 2.0i VTEC automatic is a real slug. But a CR-V is a much more sophisticated vehicle than a Fortuner that is really just a pick-up truck with an SUV body. Same goes for the Mitsubishi. But, strangely, resale prices for the 7 seater D-Max based SUV are through the roof.
