BMW manifold corrosion

My BMW Z4 is 4 years old and I have driven 32000 miles. It has just had it's second service where I have been told that the manifold is corroded and needs replacing, together with the exhaust system and will cost £3000. Apparently this is a very rare occurance but due to the age of the car it is not covered under warranty.

I bought the car new in UK but have taken it to Cyprus were I am working for 2 years. The Cyprus BMW garage will not consider a goodwill repair due to the age of the car. Please can you advise what I can do?

Nothing you can do in law except take it back to the dealer you bought it from in the UK claiming the car was 'not of satisfactory quality'. But hardly very practical. And what has happened is unheard of in the UK. All I can do is add to the entry here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/bmw/z4-2003/?section...d .
