Will a rust repair be covered in warranty on my used Civic?
I have just bought (approx 1 month ago) a 59 plate Civic 2.2 CDTi from AC.
I have just noticed a little bit of rust when putting some stuff in the boot today. It is when the roof ends at the boot, behind where the boot lid sits at the top. It looks like possibly something has been trapped in there and scraped the paint and not been treated.
I called the dealer who said to take to a Honda dealer to see if it will be covered under warranty. I previously had a Colt (57) which had the same problem and they basically said because it has to come from the inside out before it would be covered they weren't interested.
So, 2 questions, please:
1. Should this be covered by their warranty (2 months)
2 Should Honda cover this?
Feel really disheartened as otherwise really like the car!

This has to be covered by the dealer who sold you the car. Nothing to do with Honda. Not Honda's responsibility if someone damages one of its cars. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
