A large family car - what do you suggest?

We are looking for a used estate or 4x4/Crossover. My husband is 6'5 and we need to be able to fit a baby seat behind him, which we currently struggle to do in our Jaguar X-type estate. Leg room is the priority but we also need enough boot space for all the stuff that comes with a growing family, and reasonably economical to run! What would you recommend? Our maximum budget is 6K.
