£5k estate also suitable for smaller driver

I'm looking to replace our 2000 Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec estate. The Focus is perfect for me but my wife who is 5'1" tall finds it difficult to reach the pedals.

She tried a mark II Focus and the position was, if anything, worse for her.

So we're looking for an alternative small/medium estate with a budget of about £5k. We do about 6000 miles per year and petrol is ok. We prefer an estate for camping holidays but would consider alternative format such as small MPV.
