Problematic 1.9 diesel

When the ignition is switched on there is a juddering noise from the engine area. This does not happen every time. Dealership has looked at starter motor, fly wheels, even replaced battery.

Car has been into dealers on three or four times... the problem persists.

They are now saying that all cars in this series exhibit this problem.
I find this incredible in a car costing over £20 K
