What is the timing belt interval for a Skoda PD diesel?
Given that VAG seem to have revised their timing belt interval changes for some models, what would be the interval for a 2008 Skoda Octavia 1.9Tdi PD 1Z5 with BXE engine? I tend to go for around 60-70k and 5-6 years, but the dealer quoted the handbook and stated 95k miles. I know the PD engines put quite a strain on the belt because of the high pressures the PD system has to produce, but I also know the belts I've taken off do seem to be in very decent condition.

For the MY2007-on Octavia with the BJB, BKC and BXE 1.9 PD TDI engines, the official Skoda timing belt interval is 150,000km/92,205 miles. This is not an excessive interval as general rule, but whether you choose to stick to it or change it earlier is a personal choice. Although the belts you have taken off previously have been in good condition, it could be argued that this is the condition you want them to be in when they come off.
