Can I add a foot rest next to my accelerator pedal?

I have small feet (size 3) and I have never been able to rest my foot on my automatic car floor so it hovers over the pedal while I'm driving. This has not been a problem previously but I have now torn my meniscus on my right knee so I am finding it very painful to do this. Is it safe to use some sort of foot rest in the car and if so, could you recommend one?

It is possible to use a combination of a pedal extension and a foot rest to make driving more comfortable, but it is important to use well engineered components and ideally have them fitted to ensure they are safe and enable full control of the vehicle. We would recommend trying a company such as Des Gosling Mobility, who have a range of components that should help www.desgoslingmobilityltd.co.uk/products/driving-c.../
