Petrol or diesel CLC?

Considering Mercedes CLC '08/'10 180 Kompressor petrol auto.

Daily drive is five miles, weekly some 30 mile trips, monthly an occasional 60+ miles.

Should I go for a diesel auto though? Don't like diesel noise but like the torque.
I would assume Mercedes-Benz diesels are bombproof, I see millions taxis doing short journeys. But you regularly advise otherwise regarding reliability/ particulate filter issues.

MBs use Urea (addblue) to regenerate their DPFs and they are not generally troublesome, provided you use addblue.
