How can I avoid being disqualified from driving after getting 12 points?

I have had two speeding fines in the space of three months which will mean 12 points. What can I do to avoid disqualification? All low speeds. I need my car for work. Advice would be very welcome.

The only thing you can do here is seek proper legal counsel. Under the totting-up procedure, 12 points means you will receive an automatic driving ban, but in exceptional circumstances where the loss of your licence could cause exceptional hardship, especially if you have dependants, the Magistrates' Court can overrule the ban and allow you to continue driving. Whether they do or not is entirely up to them, so you should look to appoint a specialist motoring lawyer as soon as possible to represent you in court, citing the exceptional hardship dispensation. Your previous driving record will also be taken into account, and regardless of whether or not you receive a ban, you must inform your insurance company.
