Is it worth having comprehensive insurance on an older car?

Is it worth having comprehensive insurance on an old car (Citroen Belingo MPV 2007) or is third party as good as it gets?

There are many benefits to opting for a fully comprehensive policy, regardless of the age or value of your vehicle. If you need to make a claim, a comprehensive policy will cover you for any repairs or losses to your own vehicle, as well as a third party. You also have the extra protection of personal injury cover and recovering any personal belongings as well. And some policies entitle you to a courtesy vehicle if you need one. So if you feel like these are all things you may need if you do need to make a claim then comprehensive cover is definitely the best option.

It’s also worth considering the cost, as third party policies don’t always work out cheaper than comprehensive policies. This is because the risk associated with those opting for these policies is often higher than others, so the price offered will reflect this. The best way to know which is both most cost effective, and offering the right level of cover for what you need is to shop around using a price comparison site, which will look at quotes from over 150 insurers and provide you with all the information you need to make a decision.
