How do I register my car back in the UK?
Two years ago I moved from UK to Southern Ireland and exported my car, a 2.0 Skoda diesel. With some difficulty, I re-registered the car, along with the necessary test and insurance. It was neither straightforward nor cheap (I had to get insurance with an Irish address and UK registration). I now need to return to the UK and will have to reverse the process. I have tried to ascertain the correct procedure from the DVLA website without success as it only deals with one topic at a time, and I seem to be in a multi topic 'chicken and egg' situation. Please can you advise me?

To register your vehicle back with the UK you will need to fill out a V55/5 form, a new registration fee, proof of MoT and proof of tax payment, however you do not need to provide proof of insurance in mainland UK. You may also need a GB conversion IVA (individual vehicle approval) but it is unclear if this is the case as it is rare a car is exported and then re-imported. We'd recommend contacting the DVLA directly regarding your situation as it is unusual.
