My new car has been delayed from August to late September, will it get the new 73 reg?

The estimated delivery of my new car was August, it’s now delayed till end September. Will the car reg be 23 estimated delivery date or 73 actual delivery in September?

If the car has not been delivered yet, then we would expect it to get a 73 registration, as it would not be registered with the DVLA very long before it arrives at the dealership.
