Insurance Scam?

I received a call on my home phone from an "international" number. The caller asked for me by name and said that she believed I had been involved in an accident. I have not so I terminated the call.

On reflection I wonder whether this could be a scam where someone has noted my car registration, claims I have damaged their vehicle and comes after me for repair costs, car hire and personal injury etc. I recall reading about this in your column. What should I do if anything? I have no more details of the caller. How did they get my phone number?

Nothing you can do because you have nothing you can report.
