Civic duty
I have bought Civics for the last 20 years. My present one is 6 years old and the only reason I haven’t traded it in yet is because of a review I read in the Which Car mag which didn’t rate the new Civic. I would prefer to buy a Civic as it is sporty and reliable (I do a lot of driving alone). Please could you give your opinion on the new Civic or a similar alternative?

It’s very stylish and ‘different’ with practical features like the ‘magic’
rear seats that lift up as well as fold flat. It has excellent, clear,
line of sight instruments. One impractical feature is the shape of the rear window, but you get used to it. If you want an automatic you might not like the i-shift automated manual so should choose the 5-speed torque converter auto. Faults that have occurred over the years in car-by-car breakdown at www.honestjohn.co.uk If you don’t want an automatic, you might prefer the new Honda Jazz. The 1.4 SE and ES are best value. Better value than a Fiesta at list prices, and UK full production of the Jazz will start soon so, like the Civic, you
will still be buying British. And for their first 4 years or so Hondas are still proving one of the most reliable cars.
