Cash for crash

About 2 years ago I was the innocent party in a minor accident. The other party admitted liability and the claim was settled through his insurance without any problems. I sustained no injuries. Very recently I was contacted by my insurers (presuming it was genuine), stating that there are monies still in this claim 'pot' which is about to expire, which I could be 'awarded' if I would confirm that I had experienced any sort of physical effect from the accident. The inference from the conversation was that all I had to do to say that I had some sort of problems afterwards (no medical evidence necessary) and I would be reimbursed. I admit to being rather naive in such matters, but to me it seems illegal and definitely unethical. No wonder insurance premiums are so high if this practice is normal. Your comments and advice please

Ambulance-chasing garbage, indicative of a corrupted insurance industry. There must be clerks working for your insurer who are feeding information out to personal injury pariahs for a commission.
