Avoiding a financial crash

You should be aware that the passing on of confidential information to ‘accident management’ specialists is rife amongst insurers and garages. As soon as the accident comes in the staff pass the info on for backhanders. In the case of personal injury claims, this can be for several hundred pounds of referral fees. This is done even if the client has paid for legal protection cover with their policy. They are not bothered if there is money to be made. Victims of this should make written complaints to their insurers demanding an investigation. If enough people did this they would be overwhelmed and take steps to stop it.

Fair point. If this happens to any readers they should send furious letters to their insurers that their own staff are indirectly increasing their claims costs. Meanwhile everyone should buy independent legal protection policies because those sold by car insurers are generally useless. The LegalMate/AutoMate Bundle is comprehensive legal protection for most legal needs. It provides up to £50,000 of legal fees and includes: representation in employment, property matters and consumer disputes. Automate covers: legal defence for a motoring prosecution being brought against the policyholder; and pursuing a claim for death or personal injury, recovering uninsured losses (including the recovery of motor policy excess, loss of earnings, and the cost of repairs if not covered under your motor policy, providing you with access to an alternative vehicle whilst the damaged vehicle is being replaced or repaired - the policy pays for it - it's not a credit hire). LegalMate/AutoMate Bundle costs £19.99 for an individual or £24.99 for all-family cover from www.autolaw.co.uk
