Crashing in

I had an accident and the other driver was drink driving, I went to my insurance company who told me to get a quote from 2 garages, the first garage I went to said that due to the value of my car it would be written off, and that I would be better off going through an accident management company. They arranged for an engineer to look at my vehicle, and for a replacement hire car, stating that all the costs would come from the other party. I am intrigued, as this seems too good to be true, am I likely to be stung for going outside of my insurance company? What is in it for me in using this company as opposed to going through my insurance company?

You might have to sign papers that make you liable for an extortionate hire cost if the other party's insurer refuses to pay, so check carefully before signing anything.
