Fault C1228 showed up 2 months after expiry of the 3-year warranty of my Mazda3. The Mazda dealer in Taunton, where I bought the car at 12 months old, and Mazda UK Customer Services don't want to know as it has been serviced by a local independent garage. They have offered to replace the ABS unit at a cost of £15,000.84 inc. VAT, which I find deplorable and insulting. I understand this is a common fault and the AA has replied to my letter to them stating " We would not normally expect this component to need replacement so early in the vehicle's life." Needless to say, I am very angry at Mazda’s attitude and treatment to a customer who paid over £11,500 for a used car. I see Honda and Toyota are recalling cars with faults. Why won't Mazda?

Fortunately a British firm has a solution. It is able to repair the existing units in a manner that eliminated the problem for the future. More at:
