I need a Green Card but my insurer won't send me one until my policy renews which will be too late?

Two weeks before returning from Spain in April 2020 my Green Card expires. My insurance company will automatically renew my policy but l not my card. I have to make the application following renewal which means the card will not reach me in time for my journey home. Is there a way to avoid this situation?

Have the insurer email it to you when the policy renews, Alternatively contact your insurer now and advise of the situation and see what they can do in finding an alternative for you.
