What should we look for?

My husband (who is now 71) has always lusted after a Volvo so when I was left some money three years ago we pushed the boat out and bought a new top of the range C30 turbo diesel complete with leather interior and sun roof, which he anticipated would see his boots off. Sadly very shortly after we got it he started having some health problems and he has never really had the chance to enjoy the car in the way we hoped. He has recently been diagnosed with early stage Parkinson's and we recognise that it would be wise to change the car for something smaller and easier to get in and out of, and ideally back to five doors which we'd always had previously (prior to the C30 he had 2 Skoda Fabias which he loved). As his mobility is bound to get more limited over time easy access probably has to be top of our list. In the past we have bought new and kept cars for several years and we realise we are going to lose a lot on the Volvo so we have to get it right this time but are at a loss where to start. Please can you recommend some models that would fit our requirements?
