Replacing a mk1 Yaris
Nearly another year on for our 52 reg Yaris D4D. Is your mother's soldiering on? I always have a shortlist of replacement cars but it is more complicated now that my husband is retired and we share the car. He would prefer something slightly larger. I want something with seats at least as high as the Yaris if not higher, good fuel economy, probably not diesel due to low annual mileage, not necessarily new, hopefully reliable for a good few years as we keep cars a long time. Budget up to £9000 plus the Yaris. We could keep the Yaris another year if it continues OK. Any warning signs to look out for?

Yes, mother's Y reg Yaris 1.0 is still remarkably good. Not quite 'like new' but drives exceptionally well for an 11 year old 1.0 litre car. Look at a Nissan Note, KIA Venga, Hyundai ix20.
