  the solinoid. I've measured the battery and it measures 12.2v butt hen I've had this before with duff batteries that they appear to measure fine but have no ampage. So I do need to buy a new battery, charge this one or is it something else? The battery is about 18 months old.

  Is my battery failing? I have a Varta 3 years old (OE) I cannot get it to more than 12.5v on a charger, or after a 50 mile daylight run.   (I understand that fully charged it should read 12.66v) I have checked the alternator and that is charging correctly
